Set in 1890s New Orleans, this film is the shocking true story of Sicilian immigrant dockworkers and the local businessmen and politicians who sought to exploit them and take control of the docks. After the chief of police is brutally slain, hundreds of Sicilians are rounded up; thirteen are ultimately charged with murder. Nine men are tried, and when they are subsequently acquitted, vigilante justice sets the stage for one of the worst mass lynchings in U.S. history. A top-notch cast includes Christopher Walken, Joaquim de Almeida and Bruce Davison.
