Description

After his engagement suddenly ends, Joshy and a few his friends decide to take advantage of what was supposed to be his bachelor party in Ojai, California. In their attempt to help Joshy deal with the recent turn of events, the guys turn the getaway into a raucous weekend filled with drugs, booze, debauchery, and hot tubs. Written and directed by Jeff Baena and featuring an ensemble cast of hilarious comedic talents—including Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s "Silicon Valley"), Adam Pally (TV’s "Happy Endings"), Alex Ross Perry (director of Queen of Earth), Nick Kroll (TV’s "The League"), Brett Gelman (TV’s "Married") and Jenny Slate (Obvious Child) — Jeff Baena’s sophomore feature is a wickedly amusing portrayal of male bonding and emotional incompetence.

  • A comedy you have to be smart and sophisticated to get.

This is a comedy that only smart and sophisticated people are going to grasp, plain and simple. This movie is hilarious in that it makes fun of all of the different kinds of friends and types of people you meet in your life and at parties. It also makes fun of how people act on different kinds of drugs. it also deals with heavier issues such as how people avoid and then deal with suicide. And in particular how men act. If you are looking for a typical bachelor party movie, that's not what this is. It's an indie and so it's understated as indies are. All the people whining about how nothing happens in the movie are to unperceptive to get any of the nuances of it. I feel kind of sorry for those viewers to be honest. This movie has a lot to offer. Just pay attention.

This was horrible. I thought it was going to be funny as it was labeled a comedy. If the actors in this movie represent what modern men are supposed to be like, then we are doomed. I swear they were the most feminine DB's ever. What's going on here? I'm appalled.

  • Possibly the most depressing Comedy of all Time

What the fudge was that?! Do you like to watch unsatisfying, depressing movies that allow you to wallow for days in other peoples' pity masked as humor? Yes? Then listen to Rotten Tomatoes and rent this gem. Hell, buy and watch it over and over as you half laugh half cry into your popcorn. There is just nothing in any way at all funny about a graphic suicide of a future spouse, made even less funny if her parents believe the would be husband murdered her and are hell bent on making him admit it. What a shame to gather such a lovely group of funny people and ruin the mood with a devastatingly depressing plotting and sub plot lines to boot. Yes, there were some laughs but the suicide and various marital issues of the other characters hung over the movie like a wet blanket. I have never seen Paul Riser be less funny, which was depressing by itself. I hope Adam (the only funny character) is right about time travel because I'd like to go back and time and have never wasted an evening watching this poor excuse for a comedy.
