Description

A father (Michael Shannon) goes on the run to protect his young son, Alton (Jaeden Lieberher), and uncover the truth behind the boy's special powers. What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. Ultimately his father risks everything to protect Alton and help fulfill a destiny that could change the world forever, in this genre–defying film as supernatural as it is intimately human.

  • Disappointing in several ways

I"m not sure of the blame, but I think the director screwed it up by wasting WAY too much time with silences which were probably thought to increase the suspense, but they were so long they lost the effect and made it a longer more boring movie. Next the ending I'm sure was meant to be very dramatic like the end of Close Enounters of the 3rd Kind, but the 'fantastic' futuristic looking alien city at the end, on some of the closeup shots looked like concrete, not some super cool futuristic effect, so that was a downer also. I think the acting and idea were at least ok, but this should have been at most a 1 hr 30 min movie, not almost 2 hrs, and very little action for the first hour!

A small movie that actually delivers. Great performances and a great concept that is both original and extremely creative. I loved the ending, fairly jaw dropping.

This movie is brilliant. If movies that make you think and use your imagination sound like hard work, then this film isn't going to be your bag. Jeff Nichols is my new favorite filmmaker. Brilliant storyteller.

Best sci-fi movie of 2016 so far, but I haven't seen Arrival yet. Jeff Nichols became one of my favorite directors from watching just this movie. Criminally under-seen. Great original stories are hard to come by from studio films these days. Give this great film your money.

Filme e história interessantes, mas uma grande atuação do pequeno ator no papel de Alton. Falta ritmo ao filme mas a história é boa.
