Description

After a lifetime of living in her sheltered and rural hometown, without any apparent means of changing a certain fate, Sarah (Dianna Agron) discovers a possible way out in Pepper (Paz De La Huerta), a mysterious female drifter. Through Pepper's influence, Sarah is motivated to take a job at a highway strip club where Pepper sells drugs. Underneath Sarah's search for freedom is her discovery of love. But as their friendship develops into a romance, and Sarah's life veers further away from what it was. She soon finds herself trapped in a double life and quickly realizes what happens when real life collides with fantasy. Featuring a breakout performance from Glee's Dianna Agron, Bare is a raw and real look at what it means to take charge of your destiny.

  • Awful

I can only think a bunch of the directors friends got online and peace this good reviews - I fell for them but once I watched it and checked rotten tomatoes I saw that is it was a scam. Really bad acting, bad premise, music was ok for something like a “Drive” rip off. Just a really bad waste of time and money.

This was such a beautiful film. Not just the acting and story but visually as well. Hats off to the all involved in making this film. Can't wait to be able to own a physical copy.

Dianna Agron delivers a nuanced yet, contradictory as it sounds, powerhouse performance as Sarah, a young woman stuck in a deadend life in an equally deadend town. Life as she knows it is soon shaken to its foundations by the arrival of Pepper (Paz de la Huerta), a drifter who is very much a compelling stranger in a strange land. Though not perhaps the best of influences, she does open Sarah's eyes to a bigger world beyond what she has always known, and always resigned herself to. This film will equal parts break your heart and light a fire as you follow Sarah on her journey. Dianna Agron's ability to say so much with a mere look cannot be praised enough, and when she does let loose, it's downright visceral. Beautifully acted, directed and filmed, this one's a must see!

The film itself may or may not thrill you. If you have been in those small-town shoes and can relate to it, I think you'll find it a really engaging film. I certainly did. A lot of other people just don't quite get it, and that's okay. No film is for everyone. One thing you will most certainly enjoy, though, is watching Dianna Agron bringing Sarah to life. Natalia Leite's directing and cinematography are also superb and this film is a visual treat. This is definitely a Dianna you haven't seen before in any of her other roles. The character is passive and submissive. Quiet. And for this role to work, the actor has to convey a LOT of the material without just using words. Dianna pulls it off brilliantly, conveying whole ranges of thought and emotion in a very subtle and completely effective way. This was Dianna's chance to truly prove her talent as an actor, and she did so in no uncertain terms.

This movie was simply amazing. It was filmed so beautifully and it was just a work of genius. Dianna and Paz were amazing in their roles and I hope one day to be able to buy this movie instead of only renting it! :)

Significant improvement on Dianna's acting abilities. Best performance I've seen from her, as of yet. I felt for her character (Sarah) and her need to escape the claustrophobic place she was stuck in. Having a catalyst in Paz de la Huerta's character (Pepper), not in the most positive way it may have been, became the push Sarah needed to do something to change her predicament.
