  • An Honest Film

The top-notch performances and a brilliantly executed script make this one of the hidden gems of the year. The film forces us to confront the life of a food addict and all of the difficulties—both physical and emotional--daily life presents. The raw, moving performance by Rodriguez is so well complemented by the Boston backdrop and music scene that I found myself looking up all of the bands right afterward. Just a great, thought-provoking and important film.
  • Great performance, rare subject matter

The lead actor in this film is awesome. He managed to make his character immediately likable, while at the same time you want to shake him. Even without any dialogue (and one thing I love about this film is the lack of dialogue "spelling things out" for the audience), you would have understood his inner pain and struggle. I am so impressed, and very moved by his performance. I am so glad there is a quality film with the subject matter of overeating as an addiction. I hope more films such as this get made, as it is an important topic, and I'll bet one of the more prevalent addictions in our American society.
