    Waste of time and money!?
  • I liked it despite critics reviews

I don’t usually try to guess the ending of a crime movie but, because of some spoilers in the first review I read by a well-known critic and the obvious foreshadowing in the movie, I could tell what would happen at the end in general. But I liked it anyway. I don’t mind the slow pace, sometimes it’s entertaining to see someone else’s life’s details sometimes. Rosamund Pike’s character dresses in old-fashioned clothes and doesn’t seem to need much excitement in her life (decorating cakes, visiting with her father, going to the dry cleaner…). Even the first scene showing the son with his hospitalized mother is foreshadowing of a sort for what happens (I’m not giving anything away really). Try to go to see this movie knowing as little as possible and it’ll be more fun. Do stay away if you like lots of action and jump cuts. With this movie you have a chance to study her house and notice details of what she wears. If you’re bored by this, skip it. In answer to one customer reviewer’s musing about the point of Camryn Mannheim’s part of the often-eating while licking fingers then running them over everything in the nursing station where both she and Rosamund Pike’s character work, I think it’s to show how fastidious Rosamund’s character is. This makes what happens to her all the more dreadful . I ended up this thinking about the movie a day after I watched it. I usually forget bad movies right after the credits roll.

Easy to see why it went straight to video. Tons of undeveloped characters (like what was the importance of the fat, slovenly colleague?), slow story, gross ending. Don't bother.

Had a very good interesting storyline where I thought it was going to be humdrum & run of the mill. Certainly caught me off guard!

Very slow moving. It managed to keep my interest for the 1st half, but after that it just dragged on. The ending was anticlimactic and the entire movie could have been so much better. It's not a true thriller by any means and very unrealistic. However the female lead did a good job with a badly written script. 👍👍
  • Starts off ok, devolves into crazy revenge drama

So, Rosamund Pike has apparently found a niche as crazy girl. While she was awesome in Gone Girl, here she plays crazy well, but the story goes off the rails. So she gets raped and decides to befriend her attacker in prison, basically torturing him by visiting him in clothes that show off her body. We come to learn there's a method to her madness, as she gets her revenge. It just all plays like a Lifetime movie. Rosamund, you're so much better than this!
