I have not read the book but after seeing this film I'd like to. If you're a fan of Charlize Theron I would recommend this movie. It had its moments. I enjoyed it.
  • Failed in several ways

For Theron to have produced this film is sad. She's too good to have watched dailies and not see it was badly directed. She has been too good an actress to have approved this script and to have paid for this badly designed approach. Maybe she'll learn from it. I like her a lot. But this is not a good film in her filmography.

The book was excellent and the movie was good. Simply said it just brings the book to life, some things are different but to me it didn't matter. This movie was tastefully done. Even knowing the story I still cried at the end.

I think it’s worth watching. May be it could have a little more action, but the movie was entertaining and the end is twisted but at least unexpected…

Don't be scared off by direct-to-video. This was a great mystery that kept us guessing until the end. The cast was top notch. It was also a great mid-80s time capsule.

I am so disappointed by this. The book was amazing and one of, if not, my favorite books! This movie did it absolutely no justice at all. I actually feel bad for Gillian Flynn that this is what the book played out to. Please skip this completely and just read the book. You won't regret it
  • Gotta read the book

I'm not sure you'd understand the movie if you hadn't read the book. Since I have, I could follow but I can't imagine everything would be very clear without prior context. So disappointed because the book really is amazing.
