A deep look into three people's lives.

In Winter Sleep we see the lives of three people as they come to grips with the reality that they are bound together and cannot escape. The dialogue is lacerating and penetrating, the characters, all of them, three dimensional and unforgettable. I can only compare this director, Muri Ceylan, to Bergman at the height of his creative power. Watch for a scene where the brother and the sister slowly and painfully communicate what they really think of one another, he with his back to her while she glares at him from her position on a recliner. I can't recall a scene in any movie that had me clued to the screen like this one. The acting is beyond description.
