Interstellar is a good movie, but there are so many out-of-focus camera shots that it's a headache to watch and ruins the overall experience. Almost every up close shot in this movie has blurry parts, including the actor's eyes, and is so distracting that this is all I pay attention to when I watch it, and it's this way on blu-ray and in 4K. I don't care how difficult focus pulling is on on film sets in Hollywood, get a focus puller who knows what they're doing next time.

I’m a kid, so I could barely understand what was going on. But when I did, it made perfect sense and the movie clicked like puzzle pieces in my head and I love that. This movie is awesome but not for everyone. That’s why I think it deserves a 4 star rating. I totally recommend if you into space stuff. Which I am.
  • Good Film, Bad Casting

Now that it’s been a few years, Interstellar can be reviewed without all the hype of its initial release. The visuals and set design are stunning. The plot does make you think. And the film does it’s best to follow the known & predicted laws of physics. Any film that does not add sound effects to actions in the vacuum of space where sound can’t travel gets two thumbs up from me. But casting McConaughy and Hathaway in the film was a grave mistake. Both are fantastic actors, but terrible matches for their characters. All the effort put into making the film as scientifically accurate as possible is lost due to melodramatic acting from each. Hathaway’s delivery is worthy of a teen movie or a chick flick. An actress similar to Sigourney Weaver would have been a much better choice. And McConaughy’s expressions look like someone shoved a cattle prod up his rear axle. Real astronauts are much more deadpan. Watch Interstellar for the science while holding your nose due to the performance.

Great acting by MM. Slow and hard to follow overall. The soundtrack actually felt overly-dramatic and monotonous towards the end — which BTW, was an awfully convenient way to sew-up the plot line! It’s an entertaining movie but in no way “the greatest movie of all time” as some have proclaimed.
