I've been wanting to watch this movie for years and finally took the time. 10/10. Wow. Tearjerker. Anyone who rated this film lowly simply didn't understand the movie or they just don't understand life.

Definitely a mid buget movie that carried weight and made you think introspectively. One of Downey's better performances outsdie Iron Man.

A very touching movie that displays Robert Downey Jr. at his best. It’s funny, sad, warm and emotional all at the same time. Great courtroom drama even if you aren’t into those kind of movies.
  • RDJ’s best role.

An absolute masterpiece. One of the most emotionally charged films of this generation.
  • CRITICS MISSED THIS ONE AGAIN

An incredible cast of Downey, Duvall, Thornton, D'Onffrio and Shepard as well as the story. The critics simply did not like the actors, no other reason for the low reviews from them. Many critcs are bought and sold by some studios as well as have their own agenda, which does not coincide with the general public's views.

This is a substantial movie. One that will take you on a journey and leave you thinking about life and family after the movie's finished. Are the critics for Rotten Tomatoes complete idiots or what? I believe they are. This is an excellent movie. RDJ proves what an excellent actor he is here. And we already knew that about Robert Duvall. The other actors are great too; loved that younger brother.
