Sick & Twisted Fun

Aex de la Iglesia's film is amazingly entertaining and often more than a little disturbing. The concept of a horror comedy is a dicey proposition, but he more than succeeds.
Often verging on the offensive, this clever mash-up works from beginning to end. The entire cast is up for it, but Carmen Maura really steals the show.
My only challenge was simply keeping up with the outstanding and provocative visuals as I tried to follow the subtitles. Certainly not aiming for high-art, but this is a movie that will be great fun to revisit. If you like horror and sick/twisted dark humor -- you don't want to miss it.

It was kind of amusing in the beginning (robbery scene) but it fell apart quickly. Seriously, whoever wrote this seemed to be struggling with social issues of misandry and misogyny. Then they tried to dress it up as a comedy/horror or something ridiculous. The movie grew slow, and dragged, and fooled around with concepts that were not entertaining. I feel bad for people about to watch this movie… you’re not in for a treat.

This is a fast paced Spanish comedy/action/horror movie. Watch it if you like gonzo humor, hyperactive storytelling and literally crazy characters. It's great!

And it just gets crazier from there. Seriously, this movie is insanely funny, and I laughed out loud multiple times, mostly due to the incredibly cute kid. The rest of the cast was either creepy, or weird, and the movie is just so crazy, there is something for everyone.
I like their previous film, and this film seems to continue the trend. Nice work!
Note: I speak fluent Spanish, and even I had a hard time following along with how fast the dialogue went. Be prepared to take a 2 hour speed reading course!
