Description

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and OmniCorp – the world’s leader in robot technology – sees a golden opportunity to reap billions for their company.  When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured, OmniCorp grabs their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer.  OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and will stop at nothing – no matter the cost to Alex – to make sure the program succeeds.  But OmniCorp never counted on one thing: there is still a man fighting inside the machine.

I have a problem with this soft reboot of Robocop second of all why is the suit black? in the original robocop the suit is silver it looked cool with silver why black. Michael Keaton is only there because he is the spotlight to this film and even the birdman to my society.

I loved this movie. So much depth to it and an actual story. I’ve seen the originals and they are downright goofy compared to this one. Old farts probs think otherwise, but this one had better acting, better plot, and better special effects. Forget what critics tell you, man up and watch it then make your own decision.

This movie is completely pointless and devoid of any real character. Avoid this movie entirely.
  • I found the movie tedious

Nothing but special effects. It's nothing like the original Robobop movie. I almost left the theatre due to boredom.

This is the best RoboCop movie ever! I know others think the original is the best, but I think this version is better because futuristic, more appropriate, the characters don’t say the “F” word. RoboCop is more modern, and he can run fast and jump high (he couldn’t do all those things in the original versions). The most important reason is RoboCop’s wife and son do know that RoboCop is Alex Murphy. They never did in the original and that really broke my heart. I really think this version is more like how the original should have been. I highly recommend buying this movie.

The film was okay but one, you portrayed Middle Eastern people as terrorists again, and two, you showed a bunch of Chinese scientists in a factory setting, one of who sounded like he spoke Chinese with an American accent. If someone is in the US and speaks Chinese in a factory setting they're either being forced to work for low pay, or the actors are so terrible that their accented Chinese means they actually know how to speak English and you're making the actors speak Chinese for some ridiculous reason.
  • Yes, if you haven't seen the original. Maybe or a no, if you have.

I tried to give this movie a chance...without comparing it to the original, and I just couldn't. The original is one of the most memorable and qoutable 80s action flicks around. I haven't seen it in ages and I could probably qoute no less than 12-15 lines from it (that's how entertaining it was...that's how strong the bad guys and characters were). The remake has some great actors in it...who do what they can with the story but if you want to tell me the character development is better in this one, we'd have to disagree because i'd feel the older one accomplished way more in letting you understand the characters with little bits and pieces than this one did with all the soppy back story. This reboot has some cool special effects but that is pretty much it. If you are doing a reboot, in no way should your story or execution be worse than the original and unfortunately that's what happens with alot of reboots, especially when they reboot loved classics. Plenty of people are going to love this movie, which is great. There are some cool pg-13 action scenes, but despite the modern touch, they still can't hold a candle to the violence and masterful use of the f bomb in the original
