Description

Sit on the edge of your seat and enjoy master storyteller Ray Bradbury's classic adventure of four youths who try to save the spirit of their friend Pip from the ghosts of Halloween past. The four encounter a mysterious character, Moundshroud who takes them on a magical journey that sweeps them back as far as 4,000 years and touches down in exotic places all over the world like Egypt, England, France and Mexico. Along the way they discover the magic and meaning of Halloween - and friendship. This enchanting adventure features the voice talents of Leonard Nimoy as Moundshroud and the animation wizardry of Hanna-Barbera. It's a story as timeless as Halloween itself - a bubbling cauldron of thrills and suspense that will stir the imagination of the entire family. Bradbury's popular story is destined to become a perennial Halloween favorite.

Idk if you’d like it if you didn’t watch it growing up, but I love this movie. Watch it every year.

I am so glad to have Ray Bradbury's "The Halloween Tree" on digital format & dvd. It shows some of Ray Bradbury's finest story telling in a slightly altered from the book animated way. Narrated by the late Leonard Nimoy. It tells a wonderful little story about the origins & traditions of Halloween told in a family friendly, but, not childish way everyone can & should enjoy. It also tells about friendship & the bonds we make with those around us, the traditions we keep & why. This was my favorite cartoon of all the Halloween cartoon specials that used to air on tv during Halloween as I child. The book is also a masterfully written and enjoyable read.

This was a movie I caught a few times on TV as a kid, and I am delighted to find it and own it so I can share it with my children. This is a Halloween tradition! Watch this for the fantastic voice acting, wonderful characters, and charming storytelling. The art style and animation is decent, on par with other 90s animated made for TV classics but not quite Disney-level.

With Ray Bradberry’s classic book having celebrated its 45th anniversary this year, I felt that I should browse iTUnes to see if there was a movie adaptation. I was very glad to have found this title. I was even more surprised that it was animated. This classic Halloween movie from Hanna-Barbera is not only entertaining to watch, but it also teaches about how Halloween was celebrated thousands of years ago in ancient Europe. It even shows how Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is celebrated in Mexico. Having recently purchased and watched this classic Halloween treat, I am making this a part of my annual Halloween tradition. It’s a Halloween recommendation for families everywhere who celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos.

I still remember the day I discovered this on Cartoon Network as a child and the joy it brought me every Halloween when it aired. Even as an adult I still make an effort to watch it at least once a year. Great storytelling and vocal performances with interesting cultural traditions presented in an exciting way. Worth a watch, although I do think the price is pretty steep considering the brief runtime.
