Description

Inspired by true events, Blue Caprice investigates the notorious and horrific Beltway sniper attacks from the point of view of the two perpetrators, whose distorted father-son relationship facilitated their long and bloody journey across America. Marked by captivating performances by Isaiah Washington and Tequan Richmond, lyrical camerawork, and a unique and bold structure, Blue Caprice documents the mechanisms that lead its subjects to embrace physical violence. Blue Caprice paints a riveting portrait of 21st-century America and a haunting depiction of two cold-blooded killers.

  • Arresting, suspenseful

I didn’t know what the film was about before I went in so, for me, it was totally arresting and so suspenseful that my chest hurt and I didn’t think I would be able to stay. My major concern was for that young boy. I knew he was in danger and the possibilities scared me. Isaiah Washington was a wonderful combination of threat and protection: a truly frightening movie.

Thanks to the rolling stone review, I just had to see it. Worth the rent. Remarkable Mann!

This movie focused on the development of the psychopath. Good but slow.
  • A real drag in every sense of the word

I remember being riveted during the whole drama as it played itself out and was looking forward to seeing it transformed through the director's eye. Very disappointing snoozer of a film - performances too subtle (aka lifeless) on one hand, and hit you over the head obvious on the other: yeah, duh, we get that the younger sniper was brainwashed and manipulated. We didn't need 75 minutes of lifeless background to show it. Bummer!
  • Pretty boring..not enough action.

Don't waste your time on this flick. Nuff said.
  • The action of the movie starts with 20 mins to go

This had so much potential… they even knew which parts to focus on in the trailers, but the majority of the movie is spent in slow story development (that develops into nothing). Then as if they ran out of time, but had already wasted the first part, they go through the shootings in seconds each (except the one in the clip shown in the Trailers app), hit the trial, the jailhouse and done. I was blown away by how poorly executed this was.

Wow, this is soooo not worth the money. Lousy story and a weird production. Watch at your own peril.

The portrayals of Muhhamed and Malvo were chilling. However, there were too many unanswered questions as to their true relationship. The film moved too slowly at times;the ending felt rushed.

A chilling portrayal of the real story of the DC Sniper. I was there at the time. I remember being afraid to walk across parking lots, trying to walk in zig zags, etc. It was so random. I knew bits of the story of the man that brainwashed this kid. I did not know that he had his kids taken away from him. I suppose that was in Washington State, which is notorious for pushing fathers out of the lives of their children. I don't know if the guy was violent with his wife or what the circumstances were. Though there have been enough cases where the father was totally innocent and the woman was nuts. Seems to me like a dangerous thing to do, to take away a man's kids and not let him see them. Most men go into depression, but a few will snap. It's an insane situation that drives them insane.

I know the point of this movie is to delve further into the relationship between Malvo and big John. However, I believe it could've been more entertaining. I was only interested in watching because I know a lot about the case and was interested in seeing what this would turn out like from another perspective. I'm glad I gave it a chance but you're not missing much at all.
