The cast was flawless as so of Tom Cruise he was awesome in this highly obctane musical basically this movie is like High School Musical but instead it's about rock and roll in 1987. The musical numbers were solid and amazing the acting is superb but highly dazzling rockn' rolla rollin fun.

Why I like it more than I thought I would. Rock And Roll ( properly capitalized ) is founded on aspiration, exuberance, fun, irreverence and a complete disregard for consequences. I am a post-Doo-Wop rock fan of the Surf and Classic Rock era so the original songs gathered for this musical are generally not on any favorites list of mine. Even so, the renditions you will find here are worthy and well done - in fact I paused my viewing to search out the vids made of them during the 80s. Though not complete, a select line can be drawn from the movie titles; Bye Bye Birdie 1963, Hair 1967, Rocky Horror Picture Show 1975, Grease 1978, Blues Brothers 1980, Hairspray 1988, School of Rock 2003, and Rock of Ages 2012. This selection of titles - leaving out the most political and the most seriously minded - each recounts and enshrines youthful hopes and aspirations with a knowing nod and smile that respects the compromises forced upon all of us as the river of time flows, ineluctably, past us all. These stories set to music are practically universal, and nostalgic - a look back at what and who we were. They are delivered to us by cast members generally long past their teen years. This makes the humor in them possible, and kind hearted in a trenchant sort of way. There is also a service gifted to those who were not there, then. A view into the mists of what came before and how so much of life does not change ( The Everly Brothers would smile at the many Vocal harmonies displayed here ). I think these are theatrical in the Classical Greek tradition ( a comedy in all senses of the word ) allowing social commentary where the allegory of godly misbehavior reflects upon the human condition, at some remove. There are several of the most funny bits and gags you will find anywhere!

This movie was amazing definitely recommended. I fell in love with Stacee Jaxx (Tom Cruise) his character was all around great and all the others. The music went well with the movie and it wowed me. A few parts definitely had me cringe a little, definitely Joshey Z. But it was great I’ll definitely by it to rewatch.

I have seen this movie so many times, and it is definitely my favorite! The casting is perfect and the storyline is amazing. I love every single this about this movie. Especially the music! It matches the movie and emotion of the scene. It is vey easy to sing along to and I even downloaded the soundtrack. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone, even if you weren't alive in the 80s, you will love this movie.
