A marvelous daydream of everyone's curiosity of "green grass on the other side." Great cast. Relax and enjoy Paris after dark and all the adult fun of art, romance and history. a better script is rare.

Wonderful shots of Paris. The film is filled with beautiful women, and it centers around the idea that there is a "golden age" in the past, far preferable to the present. The main characters don't seem real to me. The writer seems too innocernt and child like to be a serious writer, and hisfuture wife is grating and nasty. They have no business being with each other. Still, it's entertaining, and worth watching.

Looks like it was shot on a handycam. Unlikeable characters and a disgraced director. What's to like?

For me as a history teacher, it really touches on two very significant artistic movements. The background of the film, of course, is the city of Paris, which becomes a character itself. Owens is excellent and you can't help but love the characters. A great way to spend two hours of life!

I found this movie to be quite uninspiring. I disliked the lead character, Gil, almost immediately and never warmed up to him. Adrien Brody turned in the best of all of the actors in his very small part; everyone else was bland and uninspiring. It's a ho-hum movie with a lot of missed opportunities. I've never been a big fan of Allen's work. I don't hate his work, but I don't think it's nearly as good as many, many other writers and directors.
  • Smoke some dope to watch.

This movie is a farce. Could watch a travel movie about Paris and be more satisfied. Woody has been into too many drugs and young girls to have a grasp on reality. Attempted time warp is a meager attempt like the movie-a meager attempt at film making.

I can't believe some people didn't understand the essence of the movie. It is simple, elegant and beautiful. The story may seem unsolved because this is the way life is: mysterious and puzzling. Please try to see this with all the intensity required. It isn't that funny because I don't believe it it supposed to be; on the contrary it sells us a message to try and live the present at its fullest.
