Thriller? Really? This was a very boring soap opera about a couple who screw around on each other and to find out that the daughter is distressed and loses her virginity to a local bartender who serves her whiskey….ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Don't rent or buy this movie. A total RIP!!!

Ok, so if you are an American and watch all of these movies that CLEARLY ALWAYS end happy, then this movie is not for you. This movie shows truthfully what happens in a slightly different scenario than your typical movie. It is foreign and it is really such a beautiful movie. I rewinded the ending like 5 times while I cried my eyes out. It is a slow beginning but every movie should not have insane action throughout. I really appreciated this movie due to the slow build up in the beginning. Unfortunately, we are spoiled here in America with movies that have so much going on that it is just that, a movie. Adrift is more of a movie that the average person can actually RELATE to. I absolutely give this 5 stars.

I didn't know that it wasn't in English. A little slow but a good plot.

It's not amazing or a must see, but it's a good foreign film to watch. Good character development on the the 14 year old girl, watching her go through the trials and tribulations of the dissolution of her parents marriage and just being 14 in general.

This movie is so delicate and at the same time so intense. There Is some tension that just keeps you going and wanting to know what will happen. Heitor dhalia and Fernando meirelles seriously rock!

This is one of my favorite movies and I've rented it on itunes 3 times already. This movie is so amazing and powerful. I didn't think the movie was dreary or boring like a lot of people have said, and im someone who gets bored really easily. People are so used to movies with crazy special effects to compensate for the fact they have barely any story line. This movie provokes genuine emotions and has a lot of symbolism. Its an honest portrayal of what goes on behind closed doors, but more importantly, it examines a very complicated relationship a father has with his daughter and the ripple effect of a family quarrel.

I thought this was an absolutely amazing film. The story may seem slow to develop and drawn out, but there are perfect little subtleties that fit amazingly well with the story. This is a story of a 14 year old girl realizing she's not as grown up as she thinks and that there are some things that are more complicated than they seem on the surface. This is not a film like the big blockbusters released in the USA every year and therefore is not for those that cannot appreciate a complex plot and true character development. I cannot say enough good things about this movie and all the actors in it. If you enjoy the subtle nuances of relationships and growing up, this movie is perfect.

At first, I was turned off by having to read the English subtitles. It turns out that the movie being in a different language adds to the entire plot. This movie shows traditional family value and juxtapositions it next to modern day deceit and unmorality. I went to a situation really similar to the movie and the way they interpreted the feelings of those involved was absolutely flawless. It's a truly awesome film and I'm very glad I watched it. If you're unsure whether to watch it, you should. It shows both ends of a story which movies never do.
