  • Fun Movie to Watch in Spite of the Primitive Animation Technology of 2005

CG has come a long way since 2005. These Barbies really seem like Barbie Dolls as opposed to people, like in the newer films. In spite of the primitive animation, the plot is good and children are forgiving. I asked my daughter what happened to Barbie's magic necklace at one point in the film, and my daughter said that they forget to put it in sometimes, and sure enough the necklace popped up in the next scene. In spite of these shortcomings, the movie is still worth having in your Barbie Movie collection, and it gives a lot of back story on characters we see in future Fairytopia movies.
