Description

Oscar® winner Matt Damon ("Good Will Hunting," "Invictus") stars in "Hereafter," directed by Academy Award® winner Clint Eastwood ("Million Dollar Baby," "Unforgiven") from a screenplay by two time Oscar® nominee Peter Morgan ("Frost/Nixon," "The Queen"). "Hereafter" tells the story of three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. Matt Damon stars as George, a blue-collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cécile de France), a French journalist, has a near-death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might - or must - exist in the hereafter.

The only good part was the tsunami at the beginning! I saw that and I was like, this is gonna be good!!! Well it wasn't... The cool thing about it is that I "pranked" my siblings by telling them it was an awesome movie, so they went and saw it; of course they got mad at me so "I ran for my life" "ain't nobody got time for that". It gave me a good laugh but those kids still have scars in their eyes, they are still trying to get me. 7 below and hereafter make the perfect couple when it comes to horrible movies.

This movie was so un-memerable that my wife and I watched it twice without rememberinng what was coming next in the plot. I would not recommend this movie unless you have some extra time to burn and dont really care what you burn it on. With Clint Eastwood as the director and Matt Damon playing a lead I would hae thought it would have been better but I guess you can't always hit them out of the park.

This is a very well made movie that that evolved a potentially mundane story line into a fascinating movie with a plot that appealed to this adult viewer. No special effects, loud fight scenes, or a multitude of serial star appearances. Good story telling, competent actors plying their art, and good directing that drew me in and made me part of the story. I wanted to watch the movie over and over again(which I did).

Rent it just to watch her. Otherwise take a pass on it and go for a nice walk.

I was surprised to see that clint eastwood did not do more for the plot of the story. All of it dragged on. It was such an incredible story but so poorly written. I would have liked to have seen more of Matt Damon helping others. How his perception of his "curse" turned into a gift. The story does touch some of that but not enough. I was disappointed.

I can relate to the character in the plot of seeking answers. This movie makes me reflect on my life.

Sorry but this movie just misses the bull's eye by a long long shot. It didn't even hit he backstop. I rarely buy a movie and get rid of it. However, in this case, I returned the movie right after I viewed it. I really like Matt Damon. He has loads of talent but the script and the director are to blame not the actors. They really tried to do something with nothing. It would be more enjoyable to pull splinters out of your hand.

I ended up watching this movie 3 times. Was very surprised to learn that it was directed by Clint Eastwood. Moves slowly and deals with some heavy emotions, loss, grief. So not for everybody. Not a crowd pleaser. Rather this is a very interesting inquiry to the nature of Clairvoyance and what happens when we die.
