Aronofsky has a tendency to push the limits with violence, sexuality, as well as illegal drug use in his movies, and this is no exception. Nothing worth mentioning of great significance, and the only reason I watched it was because I thought it would be an interesting subject, detailing the life of a ballerina, however it just shows the mental break down of a ballerina into the depths of a hellish nightmare. He gets more credit, then he is due for his craftwork. Rotten Tomatoes is not an accurate gauge for the quality of a movie, I find that the general public has a better idea, what makes a decent movie. Hollywood tends to push their agenda or interests in movies, which is frowned upon by the general public.
  • Truly a different type of film

I love this movie. I have never seen a movie like this before, truly made you ask a lot of questions but it leaves you to interpret it for yourself which is why i liked it so much. Makes it much more mysterious in my opinion. Too bad theres no 4K version… for now i hope. Id definitely recommend it.
  • Excellent movie; poor picture quality

This is an excellent, recent movie that looks relatively poor when viewed on a modern 4K TV with HDR/Dolby Vision. In particular, the colors appear bland and washed out when compared to similarly shot movies that are presented in accordance with modern HDR standards. Please update this movie to 4K/HDR in accordance with modern picture quality standards.
  • NOT "horror film", or "costume drama" ie "Sci Fi"

This provides a glimpse into the extreme challenges, obstacles, hard work, and stresses associated with the desire to be the best. This is a film about ballet and is told in a way that takes Natalie Portman to the limits in displaying her talent. As her character attempts to reach her ultimate goal, the transformation from dancer / athlete into becoming the very embodiment of the being she is portraying, the film depicts that transition in a most impressive way. This film is not for everyone, but it is very well done and Portman does an impressive job.

But interesting, Though it tried too hard to be artsy which I think that contributed to it being confusing and sometimes not making any sense.

I have been trying to watch this film for two days. It is slow and a lot of it is useless. Beautifully filmed. It’s just so very slow to make the points. I actually am a theatre major and I know all the hype behind the film but I don’t think it’s all that.

This psychological thriller is a work of art. Natalie Portman excels in every gesture, word, and dance in this movie. She embraces the both the white and black swan while revealing her decaying mental state. This movie will change your views of the dance world and of ballerinas. The pain, passion, truth, and insanity all become evident and are perfectly done in this movie! I highly recommend watching it!
  • Interesting one time only

It was a wild ride first time I saw it, but a bit too much drama for me and almost supernatural like in intensity. And it’s been on sale a few times already for $5, but like many other bargains, here it is again back for an encore. So if you miss it in 2018, look for it about 4 times in 2919 I guess.
