Description

The holiday season is in full swing when a cultured gentlemen with twinkling eyes, and ample belly, and a snowy beard is hired as Macy's department store Santa. He claims his name is Kris Kringle, and soon fills everyone with Christmas spirit - except for his boss, Doris Walker, who's raising her daughter Susan to not believe in Santa but when Kris is declared insane and put on trail everyone's faith is put to the test as old and young alike face the age old question: Do you believe in Santa Claus?

Both the movie cover art shown here and the image capture from the movie displayed above show the 1985 colorized version of the movie. What you get after purchasing is the original black & white version. When we started watching, I assumed maybe we just had to switch to the colorized version, but you do not get both, just the b&w. The colorized version is beautiful and quite remarkable how it was done in the 80’s. We were so disappointed that we didn’t receive both versions that we called to get a refund or at least see if the colorized version could be purchased in addition to, but Customer Service was no help at all! Of course the movie is still a wonderful classic. But, as a photography and color major I was assuming I was purchasing the colorized version or both, as that’s what’s shown. Very bummed.

But hey iTunes....FYI, the word "trial" is misspelled in the "About the movie" section of the description. You spelled it "trail." Might want to fix that... Otherwise, get this movie for the holidays people!! You won't regret it!
  • Great movie, deceptive advertising...

I thought I was getting a colorized version because of the robust colorized movie thumbnail, I was unpleasantly surprised by black and white content.

I have always loved the 1994 version, but this original is truly the best! Im so glad I watched it because it has no flaws and I will be adding this to my annual Christmas movie watching. A perfect Santa, a perfect message. I just love it!
  • Great movie, bad letterboxing!

Nice to have a Christmas classic. Wish iTunes retained the original aspect ratio. 10 minutes into the film, it switches to widescreen and cuts off everyone’s heads, hats, etc. Better than the horrible colorized versions out there. Ice to see the original B&W.

This is the best Christmas movie. All originals always are. Redoing this movie should be a crime. I own this movie. It's the best!!!
