My dad and I would watch this in early-mid 80s. As a kid, it was soo funny and the combo of Of Jake and Elwood is akin to any classic combo from earlier Times- i.e. Abbot & Castello, etc.
  • An amazing classic and cast

The cast in this film is like no other. That is what makes this a timeless classic. Some of the greatest musicians of all time mixed with some of the most amazing comedians of all time. You will not be disappointed. If you donโ€™t find this movie entertaining, you donโ€™t know what a good movie is!

I have watched this movie over 200 times and still enjoy watching it. Everything about it is top notch. Great script, actors, director, sets, and band/music! Dan and company created a movie to last forever. This is the Ben Hur of musical comedies!

This movie somehow became a classic for us. I donโ€™t know why, but I love it! I love how you can tell that they actually filmed in Chicago and not some fake set. I am also a Catholic so I love the storyline of them raising money for an orphanage. (We donโ€™t have nuns at our school, but I love that scene anyway!) Also, THE MUSIC!!! Obviously with The Blues Brothers, Aretha Franklin (๐Ÿ˜ฅ), James Brown, Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, and John Lee Hooker there is bound to be amazing music. And also, the casting! I canโ€™t even list everybody famous in this movie!

This is one of the best movies of all time. Excellent dialogue, comedy, action, and of course... Great Blues Music! John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd have achieved something no others have done. When this movie came out, it was a hit. During this time they were a hit on SNL. Then they produced a hit record. No other actor/musician can say they hit a trifecta all at once in entertainment history.

This movie and the Big Lebowski is by far two my favorite comedies of all time. If not for the high speed chase through the mall alone. The soundtrack is awesome too. I'd suggest that you rent it before you buy. It may not be suitable for kids to watch due to language. But, it's an awesome movie nonetheless.
