Description

At home, hardened police detective Aidan Breslin (Dennis Quaid) has grown increasingly distant from his two young sons, Alex (Lou Taylor Pucci) and Sean (Liam James), since the death of his wife. At work, he finds himself thrust into an investigation of perverse serial killings rooted in the Biblical prophecy of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: The White Horseman, a master of deception and the unexpected leader hell-bent on conquest; The Red Horseman, a sharp-witted warrior intent on turning man against man, with an innocence that hides a burning rage within; The Black Horseman, a manipulative and dark tyrant, unbalanced but always one step ahead; and The Pale Horseman, an executioner with disarming strength, determined to spread death through surgical precision.

The movie was amazing. The only bad part was then ending. Very supencfull and a great suprise finding out about alex. Love the movie but the ending should have been longer.
  • If you love Quaid, and nothing else is on, it's not TOO terrible.

Dennis Quaid definitely carried the movie. I, like I believe most people will, called the ending about ½ way through. It actually had a few decent scenes, and there was some good acting, however, the story line is extremely thin and the plot lurched along like a zombie at times. The biggest problem I had was with the technology forensics. I’m willing to give screenwriters a wide berth with poetic license when it comes to suspending disbelief where computer hacks are concerned, but major plot turning points (as in, the movie could not have ended without them) were based on insipidly basic, fanciful computer tricks. Accurate tech isn’t a nicety in movies anymore; it’s really required. But it’s clear that the director didn’t even bother asking anyone before dropping his deus ex machina into the story. If you can get past all that, and enjoy Quaid (who did do a good job in this film) then it might be worth a watch.
  • Worst Quaid movie EVER!

Horsemen's plot summarized in one sentence: take SE7EN, replace Kevin Spacey with a ragtag bunch of prepubescent sadomasochists, and instead of suspense pile on excessive amounts of gore. Dennis Quaid is okay in the movie - not at his best, but still decent. Everything else about it was terrible.
  • Not Bad, but NOT Good either......

The only thing about this movie that really draws you in, is how the murders are committed. The acting is ok. But something about the film screams low budget. The ending was a little anti-climatic. Its would recommend renting it .....but only if you've exhuasted your choices

The movie started off just fine, but went downhill fast when you learn the identity of the killers. They aren't the least bit scary or intimidating - rather than horsemen they are just a bunch of wussy emo teens. Don't waste your money.
  • If you're thinking "it can't be too bad if Dennis Quaid is in it," YOU ARE VERY WRONG.

You can bury the movie in as much gore, creative death traps, and distractions as possible, but the movie is still piece of crap without a good plot. Most whodunit films allow you to piece it all together at any point, but you find yourself so wrapped up in the whole thing until the very end where you end up thinking "well, of course! duh! Why didn't I put 2 + 2 together until now?"; well, the good ones anyway. Very few of these movies completely blow my mind, but most pass as okay stories. Unfortunately, it seems as though the screenwriters for this film had all these great ideas until the simple factor of why and who. They give a real poor effort as to the motive for such freakshow murders and an even worse message to send out to those who wasted their money on this crap. There is no ultimate message to deliver except possibly what the emo subculture may find to ring true their black and miserable hearts. Oh, woe is me. Not only did the director and editors of this film add parts that were unnecessary and jumbled up scenes throughout the film to deliberately prolong the viewers to guess at who had done it, but after all this investigation Dennis Quaid only bothered to check out the connections between the killers/victims toward the very end? Aha! Clue! If this main character were a detective in real life, nothing would ever be solved purely out of raging idiocy. More importantly, the struggles that most of the characters must face are benign and do not justify or provoke such monstrosity as portrayed in this movie. Plus, when were children ever this creative in their suicides? Did the basic methods go out of style all of a sudden? "Oh well it's a movie, things are supposed to be a little more dramatic." Yes, but it should still pass for believable. I strongly believe in the theory that movies should be believable; especially if they are based on our planet like this one! I find myself reeling back from this movie with severe disappointment and purely disturbed at how writers could possibly think this crap can pass for a good mystery or drama. It's like watching As the World Turns instead of a premium content series on HBO.
