  • What a wonderful story!

Based on the brief iTunes description of the story behind this movie, I pegged it as a movie I could do without: controversial sports figure fired after 44 days. Negative stuff about something that I look to for entertainment and inspiration (i.e. sports). If a good friend of mine had not strenuously asked me to watch it, I wouldn't have. Was I ever pleasantly surprised! I found all the entertainment and inspiration I could handle. Absolutely terrific acting. The actor playing Brian Clough (central character) looked familiar. I checked IMdb and couldn't believe it was the same actor that played Tony Blair in "The Queen" and David Frost in "Frost vs Nixon" - Michael Sheen. He, Colm Meaney (his rival) and the rest of the cast were fantastic. Couldn't recommend this movie more.

Michael Sheen has gotta be my favorite English actor. He does such a good job as Brian Clough, and actually looks a little like him. Great movie, WATCH IT. Esp. if you like football. HOLLA. <3 Damned United.

Very well done movie, Clough is one of the greatest coaches of all time. Wish they would have done more with him and Nottingham.

Surprisingly well done. Any fan of football (soccer) will enjoy this film, and anyone who is not yet a fan may possibly become one! Michael Sheen really stands out and owns the part. Overall a great sports film that does more than you would expect.
