This movie was recommended by my Step Grandfather. At first I was skeptical because the movie poster seemed like it gave the movie away. While watching the movie I realized how truly amazing this movie it. It talks about various facets of life and makes more sense today then I believe when it was released. Definitely a thought provoking master piece of a movie. Thank you DC for recommending the movie.

This Movie was referred to me from a friend, along with being the 1st time to view such an " Oldie But Goodie!" It is a very good representation as to when each and everyone of us passes on! A Blast from the Past, Must see! Ty
  • Best suited for those with Phd's in film history...only.

For someone studying film within the realm of a profession (or you’re a wanna-be), and the actors involved in them, of course this should be on your watch list (even if you just like watching cult classics). But for someone just wanting to see it because it’s got Charlton Heston (what could possibly be wrong with it if it’s got Heston) in it, and it’s sci-fi, expecting to be entertained, you’d be totally wasting your time.

Old non-HD version was apparently removed from catalog inventory. Is still located in my purchase movies, but have to pay for it again if I want it in HD. Similar things like this keep happening with many movie titles. The individuals running iTunes need to do a better job.

I first saw this movie 44 years ago. Scared the crap out of me. I still think of the movie when I see green macaroons, lol. Such a completely different take seeing it now though. Jeesh.
  • Great movie-bad iTunes standard def

Why...why...why are there movies that I own on blue ray only available in standard def on iTunes. It is bad enough that the movie library is missing great movies but to have movies without HD in 2017+ is ridiculous!
  • Not that good

Movie is slow and not well-directed. Also you don't care about the characters, including Heston as a thuggish cop. Poor art direction for a sci-fi movie.

It seemed dumb to me. Life looks so bleak in 2022 that a questionable diet wouldn’t make it much worse. This film came out right after Clockwork Orange, showing the harsh difference between layered meaning and surface thrills, between hack-job and craft. Maybe a few filthy paws would have improved this flick.
  • One of the greatest of all time.

This is without a doubt one of the greatest Sci-Fi movies of all time. No special FX, no outlandish fight scenes or chases. Just great actors giving great performances to a great script. Story telling at it's best!!! rent or buy you won't be disappointed.
