Description

Box office superstar and Academy Award-winner Mel Gibson ("Maverick," "Braveheart") and Danny Glover ("The Color Purple," "Grand Canyon") team up as L.A. cops in the top-grossing action movie that spawned three sequels. Directed by Richard Donner ("Superman," "Maverick"), Gibson is a volatile, unregistered risk-taker, known as a "lethal weapon" by his colleagues. Glover is the conservative detective with a solid reputation. Forced to form an uneasy alliance, they begin to unravel the mystery of an apparent suicide that turns out to be murder -- and more. The New York Times calls this "a high-voltage thriller which packs an undeniable wallop;" Gene Shalit calls it "riveting!...a pair of heroes I hope we'll be seeing again;" and Joel Siegel says it's "a detective thriller that just won't quit...this one is so good it will be the standard for action films all year long!" Co-starring Academy Award-nominee Gary Busey ("The Firm," "Under Siege").

This movie is groundbreaking for the fact it was the first blockbuster action film to depict mental illness in a serious light. Everyone in the movie wrote Riggs off as crazy. Only Murtaugh was able to eventually recognize that Riggs wasn’t crazy, but instead was a majorly depressed man suffering from the grief of losing his wife. Through that bond formed through sympathy, Riggs was finally able to take steps to move forward. Excellent movie.

I'll buy it if you get the Director's Cut or add the deleted scenes. I'm not paying that HD price unless it's the Director's Cut that has the extended scenes. BTW, cool entertaining movie from the 80s - the best (one of ) decade of the 20th century!

I hadn’t watched this movie in 20 plus years so I forgot just how great this movie is. Incredible that it’s still feels fresh almost 35 years later. Very VERY few movies hold their own like Lethal Weapon has over time. It’s one of the original and best buddy flicks ever made. It’s a true American classic movie!! 5 STARS!!

This film is awesome, I really like it. But I also find this film, and others like it a sad reminder. At no point in recent time, unless serious changes are made, could any film even mention Christmas, much less show, or depict the celebration of the holiday. This film, at least due to the current environment in Hollywood, is not just one of the best action films, but is also a reminder of a time in Hollywood during which faith could be expressed without consequence. These days, with the exception of a few, films have to express, depict, or reflect the unnatural and immoral ideology of Hollywood elites, and their vocal minority support. Enjoy this film, as the fantastic action film it is, and the reminder of a better time in Hollywood. Stand firm against the terrible ideology of today's Hollywood, and demand the updating and resurrection of the Hays Code, to give our new films a standard, and remove the blatant propaganda being peddled in them.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. It's hilarious but also has a serious side that keeps you watching. I recommend it to anyone looking for a good action/comedy movie.
  • Default 720P HD???

Somehow someone format of the first lethal weapon movie to perfect 16 x 9 format. And screw the last three up with widescreen format. ???? Are you kidding me?? Disappointed to learn I have to download 1080 P into my laptop before I can download into my iPad mini or iPhone 5s. Why does iTunes default only download 720 P? In all movies purchased in HD? Pick up the pace Apple. I updated all my files to 1080 P HD and my devices with a sync. Disappointing....
