Description

You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way. Jonathan Livingston Seagull's words, from the best-selling novel by Richard Bach, bring into sharp focus the intense and extraordinary determination of Jonathan, who envisions another world - one of love, understanding, achievement, hope and individuality. An evocative musical score by Neil Diamond is paramount to the film's mood.

This was so excruciatingly boring that I can't believe the other reviewers saw the same movie. I found myself wanting to turn it off 30 minutes. After forcing myself to endure to the end I wish I had. Perhaps if you were a Neil Diamond fan, the soundtrack might make this bearable. Makes me wish iTunes had a zero-star rating. Seriously. I'd rather watch paint dry.

Saw this as a kid in Venezuela, my Dad (R.I.P)., dug the book and the cheesy Neil Diamond music, which I somehow still love (must be the nostalgia factor) and took my brother and I to see it. It had a powerful effect on us. Its about not being mediocre and trying to see how fast and how far you can fly in this short life you have.....

ok, the music is not the best part, but the book was actually the best book the Bach ever wrote, and was his first book, which took years to get published. Ignore the lame description written about the movie; whoever wrote that was clueless. The idea, embodied in the seagull, is really about searching and learning about what really matters. It is a beautifully choreographed and well done film. If you like to think about what you watch, this is well worthwhile. rw

Fantastic picture, very nice music (a little cheesy for the people that did not like the 80's). It's not exactly a little kid movie (lots of meta physical thougt from those seagulls ;>), but it is a magnificient tale. Extremely enjoyable on large screen TV!! I loved it!
