Description

Winner of two Oscars, the romantic comedy that sparkles like diamonds! The names Audrey Hepburn and Holly Golightly have become synonymous since this dazzling romantic comedy was translated to the screen from Truman Capote's best-selling novella. Holly is a deliciously eccentric New York City playgirl determined to marry a Brazilian Millionaire. George Peppard plays her next-door neighbor, a writer who is "sponsored" by a wealthy Patricia Neal. Guessing who's the right man for Holly is easy. Seeing just how that romance blossoms is one of the enduring delights of this gem-like treat set to Henry Mancini's Oscar-winning score and the Oscar-winning Mancini-Johnny Mercer song "Moon River."

I finally purchased and watched this and realize why it’s so beloved. It’s enjoyable, still looks great, and the performances are top notch. An interesting character study of two New Yorkers trying to make their way through the world and relationships that aren’t right for them. So many classic looks and lines but also an unfortunately racist caricature performed by Mickey Rooney. Overall it’s a can’t miss piece of American cinema that inspired audiences, filmmakers, and American culture for decades.
  • Wonderful theme but it’s for the wrong film.

My family and I were not excepting what we saw in this supposedly great movie. Ms Hepburn plays a prostitute who ran out on her husband and Mr Sheppard plays a writer who’s also a prostitute who’s in an affair with a married woman. Drinking, too much partying, a strip club... We had to stop, it was getting to risqué and uncomfortable. Moon River was and is wonderful, but it was for the wrong film. If the theme is famous, shouldn’t the film be left out? But then, Hollywood was never one for morals. If you have children, then I’d advise not to watch this. But please don’t judge Ms Hepburn by this horrible film. Try watching My Fair Lady or better yet, Roman Holliday or Sabrina.

No one comes close to her or ever will. One can only try to be like her in grace, beauty, a heart full of love and caring spreading to where ever it is needed. If you were to look into those magnificent eyes you could feel the magic of her spirit lift you right up and out of your soul in pure happiness, love and joy, for that was Audrey Hepburn...

This movie isn't just for girls. I, as a 16 year old male, loved this classic film. It is a perfect mix of romance and drama rolled into a well written script. Audrey Hepburn will always be a treasure to the world. She may be gone but sure will not be forgotten. Rest high, you spectacular gem. Thank you for the wonderful legacy you left behind.
