    We could all focus on Robin Williams’ eccentric performance. We could choose to highlight the heartwarming premise. We could point out how its core of teen characters evolve into something magical. We could praise its witty screenplay and gorgeous direction. But what elevates Dead Poets Society from a feel-good tale to cinematic greatness is its completely tragic, heartwrenching, haunting, yet absolutely powerful and touching final 30-40 minutes. 10/10

    I love this movie. I love how it starts out as we see these boys enter school and encounter their odd teacher, and then we get to learn more about their personal lives, and then ends with a tragedy, yet still has some hope. Robin Williams was amazing, but had too little screen time, which upset me. The actors of the boys did amazing jobs, beautiful colors and shots, and the director (Peter Weir) also directed one of my all-time favorites "The Truman Show". A must watch when it comes to classic school dramas.

    I’ll be honest, I only first watched Dead Poets Society because it was a class movie in AP Prep English 10. This wasn’t very long ago, quite literally, only about three weeks past. But I can say, however much I may have dreaded it when the title first appeared on the screen, Dead Poets Society is most likely one of my favorite movies. Its funny, really. I believe I remember one of my friends- who I regrettably don’t talk to much anymore- trying to convince me to watch it with her, two years ago or so. I declined, because I’m not usually a fan of older films. I guess she knew me better than I knew myself, at the time. Dead Poets Society is a emotional, powerful film. I’m not exactly a poet, like Todd, or even someone who can articulate, like Neil could when not faced with his father, so I can’t give a very good review on the themes and whatnot. This is more of a personal thing. I have only rated four stars, because it made me cry in class and I did Not like that. Not one bit. also neil was gay yeet thanks
