This is one of those movies you will want to watch more than once. It is entertaining for adults and children as well. It teaches a few lessons as well.

Regency. Fun. Light. Satisfying ending. Sope and Frieda have great chemistry. As did Zawe and Theo James, loved their back and forth. Perfectly casted.

A breath of fresh air! I really enjoyed the film. Not sure what all the negativity is all about. I’m glad I purchased it as I would watch it again.

Directing is great, costumes and music are great, acting and humorous lines are great! I haven’t read the book but I’m going to now! Julia Thislewaite’s scheming reminds me of Emma from Jane Austen’s novel. Bridgerton vibes. Sad too see the only negative reviews are about the race of the characters and nothing to do with the actual storyline, this movie is not about historical accuracy but for entertainment. The negative ones must have fictional romantic drama mixed up with a historical documentary.

This is a great movie. The reviewers who call diversity in Hollywood “wokism” are laughable. Thank god their generation (boomers) are almost over. We will fix their damage. To think that these are the children of the greatest generation and contributed nothing at all and instead left us a huge mess. It’s a sweet, if somewhat saccharin movie. Ignore the haters.

A good and entertaining movie. Too bad a lot of people cannot see beyond their own stereotypes and shortsightedness to enjoy a good story. It would ruffle a many feathers to see people of colour in old England as aristocrats! Too sad on those people.
