Description

France, 1789. The prestige of a noble house depends above all on the quality of its table. At the dawn of the French Revolution, gastronomy still is a prerogative of the aristocrats. When talented cooker Pierre Manceron is dismissed by the Duke of Chamfort, he loses the taste for cooking. Back in his country house, his meeting with the mysterious Louise gets him back on his feet. While they both feed a desire of revenge against the Duke, they decide to create the very first restaurant in France.

I don’t believe are too many middle age women that know nothing about cooking. The story is unprofessional so in consequence the actors struggle.

A solid French foodie film that combines both history and melo-delicious-drama to cook up a fine story that simmers and tantalizes with its talent, while also showcasing some stellar cuilinary cinematography. If the story wasn't so cookiecutter when it comes to its narrative beats and predicatable rising star gets knocked down, tries to reinvent themselves with some success, only to fall further before getting a pep-talk from the ones they love and coming out on top in the end over the pompous bad guy who is so very very deserving of it. All-in-all, I'd recommend it to my friends and family for sure! More films like this please!

We both enjoyed this nice movie absent of any violence that gives a glamour at a Chef’s life in France at the eve of the revolution.

I adore everything French, especially food and this movie has all the elements of a great film - passion, revenge, disappointment. I suppose this is pre-Revolutionary France because you get a sense of rising tensions between the main character and his son. The story is well written with great cinematography. I loved all the characters even the villains. The plot twist at the end was so satisfying. Definitely worth watching!

Was worth a watch. Great cinematography and great story. Nothing better than seeing the Elite Class put in their place. (says my inner Irishman). Good plot twist for the last quarter of the Movie. Well made.

I loved this movie from start to finish. Unfortunately I don’t speak French, so I watched in subtitles. Trust me it didn’t take anything away from the movie at all. Brilliantly directed and performed by the cast. It was moving and the surprise twist at the end was amazing. This was a refreshing change from other foreign movies I’ve seen recently and should be celebrated. If I could give this movie 10 stars I would. Simply a delicious delight!

Tthe name of the film says it all. It's great to watch a beautiful movie once in a while. It's great to have a hero that is not wearing tight pants and doesn't have super powers. Beautiful story, great photography, great acting and great direction.

Beautifully filmed, wonderful acting, and fantastic story! If you dont mind reading subtitles and you love films with historic flair- this is wonderful. Someone cared a lot when they made this movie and it shows. You appreciate the trials, heartache, and wisdom.

Delicious is a fine film with an excellent plot and acting. It left me with a smile and a little zip before bedtime. A contemporary bonus feature at the end of the film: the socially-distanced dining tables on the retaurant lawn.
