'Boys' is an uplifting, heartwarming Dutch film about two teenage runners who find themselves unexpectedly atrracted to one another while training for a relay race. This is a low-key film in many ways. The dialog is sparse; much of the emotional content of the film comes through the onscreen chemistry of the two young actors and their excellent non-verbal acting. The character development is subtle and believable, especially Sieger's fitful journey of self-understanding and self-acceptance. The music compliments and never overpowers any of the scenes. The cinematography is understated, creative, and beautiful. There are some expertly filmed and touching scenes between the two boys - swimming together, skimming stones, jumping on a trampoline, training together, sitting around a campfire, and kissing under the stars on a moonlit beach. I could go on and on. Just watch it! You'll find yourself smiling for days afterwards.

Seriously, this is a must watch. It’s so heart wrenching and a masterpiece of a film, I can’t believe it’s not more widely known. :)
