Description

From the imagination of Wizarding World creator J.K. Rowling comes the Fantastic Beasts film series, magical adventures set before the time of Harry Potter. At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escaped custody and has set about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world.

Epic, great ending battle, good music, good or decent characters most of time, great back-story only bad thing is the ending.

Boring and confusing. I suffered in the movie theater. Had no popcorn. Almost cried.

You’re not seeing the big picture, once this deal is all over, you will see when this movie will all make sense. Sure it’s messy, but that’s vital to make one movie to set the stage for what’s next. This is like the word credits at the beginning of Star Wars, to get the messy stuff out of the way. It will all become so much better when all is fully explained. Also, just to call someone out, the crimes of Grindewald are simply what happens in the movie. So, in conclusion, good movie, deserves more credit, and have patience for things to come.
  • Bundle

I bought this under the bundle section thinking I would get both movies as a bundle but I only received this one. I wanted both for the 14.99. I wish apple would fix this so I get both of the movies as a bundle as I expected since it was in franchise bundles.
  • The Critics Are Wrong!

This movie changed my thoughts of the Fantastic Beasts series! At first I thought,”Why are they making some dumb prequel?” Then I saw this movie. When people hated George Lucas for the 3rd trilogy, episodes 7, 8, and 9 were awesome! People who hate this movie are dumb! They say it has no plot, but it has so much story to tell.

When it has a young version of dumbledor but still has Harry’s son and a lot more things like that the movie it feels like the movie is based in the 1900 or 1800 but has people from the 2000 and when it has people that was dead are now alive . Do not buy 🤦🏼‍♂️

This movies is really good. A lot of bad reviews are saying it’s all over the place and it is. But it’s all important and this is just one movie in a series! A lot went on but it was honestly so good! All of the information (although it may seem like a side story) in this movie is important knowledge and there were so many hidden gems and references in it.
  • Hard to Follow

I wasn't entirely clear what was going on over the long run time of this movie or why. The plot seemed very contrived. Most of the movie was exposition which is really the mark of a terrible movie. Having plot elements explained instead of revealed is a cheap short cut of bad movie makers. I fell asleep a few time watching it which may explain my confusion. The Deathly Hallows, by contrast, kept me wide awake and interested. I also had no idea what the baby swapping bit was all about and I didn't care. I understand that the hard core Harry Potter fans are going to love it no matter what. Certainly Harry Potter has a big enough fan base to sell a bunch of tickets. But so does Star Wars and look at the disaster the recent movies have been. In regard to this movie, it is proof that you can take hundreds of millions of dollars, fantastic actors, wonderful special effects, and mountains of good will from the fans and squander it all. Maybe they should have hired a competent writer or two to sort it out.
