Description

Based on the best-selling novel, The Hate U Give tells the story of Starr Carter, who lives in two worlds: the poor, black neighborhood where she resides and the mostly white prep school she attends. This uneasy balance is shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood friend by a policeman. Facing pressures from all sides, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what’s right.

Really? Blacks are killed mostly by blacks. Literally. 13 percent of the population is black. Yes are there times when a white person kills a black person yes absolutely. But who cares about the color of your skin. Everyone is perfect the way they were made. Some of my closest friends were black and I’m white. We didn’t care! We were friends. I moved away and couldn’t keep touch (I didn’t have a phone) Look at BLM they do riots, they slaughter so many. Fact: they don’t care about the women and children they care about the young drug dealers, murderers, and other bad people. I hope you read this and understand what everyone is going through. Not just whites. Not just Blacks. Not just Asians. Everyone. Period.

Don’t listen to all of the one star reviews. This movie shows the effects of police brutality in over polices neighborhoods. It is powerful and so well cast. This is an issue I am really passionate about and Starr learning to use her voice brought me to tears. This movie also helped my parents see the affects of police brutality.

I watched it while it was free with itunes propaganda. Starts off with push toward ackwardness around police and then psuhes a little bit of Black power supremacy. Then the girl is living a lie. THe rest of the movie pushes toward racist reactions and very little dialogue. Then ends like all gang movies do with guns pulled on people. Surprisingly police save the day at end, but they are the villians the whole movie. Only Black lives matter point is pushed, not anyone else lives matter....great message for your kids. Could be worse. Black people are not victims. They can do better. We are not african-amercians and others...we are all Americans. Only then can we stop division. And by stopping BET and CNN,MSN.
