Description

Band Aid, the refreshingly raw, real, and hilarious feature debut from Zoe Lister-Jones, is the story of a couple, Anna (Zoe Lister-Jones) and Ben (Adam Pally), who can't stop fighting. Advised by their therapist to try and work through their grief unconventionally, they are reminded of their shared love of music. In a last-ditch effort to save their marriage, they decide to turn all their fights into song, and with the help of their neighbor Dave (Fred Armisen), they start a band. A story of love, loss, and rock and roll, Band Aid is a witty and perceptive view of modern love, with some seriously catchy pop hooks to boot.

I will never be as cool as Zoe Lister-Jones but watching this helps. Also, the ep on Spotify of The Dirty Dishes makes this movie even better.

Very suprised by this film. Some really funny moments and the soundtrack was fantastic. Thank god they released an actual EP of the band songs as I was blown away by how great they sounded. A very honest story of relationships. Zoe Lister-Jones was absolutely amazing.

-Drugs, language, sex(nudity)... out side of that great movie, 4 stars are for story line and acting! -This movie gets into the nitty gritty of a relationship going through a tough time. Creative idea for working through the pain and anger of being “stuck”. -A little slow at first while building the story and characters but worth it!

  • More of a dramedy than a comedy

This movie is oversold as a comedy. There are some comedic scenes, but there is also a lot of painful marital drama. If you're looking for something light and whimsical, this is definitely not it. I gave the movie 2 stars to offset all of the 5 star ratings, but if not for those I'd probably give it 3 stars. It was ok as a 99 cent rental, but I wouldn't pay any more than that for it. Thankfully it was only 90 minutes long; if it were any longer I don't think I'd make it through.

I often am led into a viewing by a movie that does not live up to the trailer, but this movie delivered. I am a fan of "Life in Pieces” and this delivered the quirky and honest humor that is was seeking. Bravo, Zoe Lister Jones on a touching and deep film that i can relate too. Thank you.
