What the Rotton Tomatoes wrote is typical. But I'm here to tell you it was a great story of Hank Williams life and did not know Tom Hiddleston was so talented. Some one made a movie way back about Hank and it was so Hollywood~esque with all the boozed~up people and women. That was like a twilight zone movie. The new one with Tom Hiddleston is a real tribute, with archiveal film and was the best anyone could have done. I LOVED this film and I'm sure his son Hank Jr. was proud of it too.

My parents would have loved the story. The singing was great. Tom Hiddleston captured the pain and depth of Hank Williams. This is the telling of a tragic story. I enjoyed watching it. Don't understand all the negative reviews. The description is pretty straight forward. Seems to me a lot of people watching it expected it to be something its isn't instead of just enjoying it for what it is. I would watch it again.

This was a pretty boring movie. The case and acting were just fine, but the movie as a whole was not great, in fact, very boring.
  • Love the music, but..

I LOVE Hank's music, and Hiddleston did a great job at it, however it was extremely slow and had quite a few pointless scenes, but it was great to see Hank brought to life on the movie screen

I was apprehensive initially, because a British actor was playing a legend of the deep south here in America. To my surprise Hiddleston and Olsen acquitted themselves gracefully. Even Hiddleston's singing parts were a pleasure. I think this movie came out in a wrong generation which can account for most of the negative reviews here, but as someone who remembers Hank Williams, Sr. I can assure you that this movie was very well done. I can imagine even old Bocephus himself with a tear in his eye watching this about his pops. I give the movie a full ten stars because they stuck more to the history than trying to flash it up for Hollywood. They brought Hank Williams the man to the screen, not Hank the legend. Its a story that needed be told.

I highly recommend this dark story that somehow lifted and inspired me! It was the music and Tom Hiddleston's usual magnificent performance. I was not particularly fond of country or hillbilly music, but I am going to reconsider the notion. Elizabeth Olsen did a terrific job as well. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

Hiddleston was pretty good, but I found the movie a bit boring. I can usually handle slow-paced films, but I felt like this movie didn't have enough depth. Not for me.

The movie is based on the real life story of Hank Williams. It's a good movie but of you're like the knucklehead above me, looking for perhaps an action packed film with lots of CGI, special effects and a blaze of glory, save your money because you'll be disappointed.

I never write movie reviews, but I just could not let this one go. This random mess is hands down the WORST movie I have seen in at least a decade...if not the worst ever! I did not finish watching it... I don't even care what happens to any of these characters in the end. Whoever wrote and directed this incoherent, plotless, chaotic collection of nonsense should maybe retire from film production...because they clearly do not know what they are doing. Whoever concocted this trash must have been high on something...and it would only make sense to them. Charging people money to watch this is criminal and immoral. Absolutely awful!
