Description

In the Orange Islands far south of Kanto, a Trainer named Lawrence is on a sinister quest: catching the Legendary Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres in an attempt to awaken Lugia, guardian of the sea! When Ash and friends arrive, the islanders ask him to gather three elemental orbs from different islands. As the weather across the world goes out of control, it becomes clear that the capture of the Legendary trio has thrown the environment out of balance! With Lugia’s help, can Ash find the orbs, restore the balance, and be the “chosen one” that everyone turns to?

Pokémon: The Movie 2000: The Power of One, commonly referred to as Pokémon 2000, originally released in Japan as Pocket Monsters the Movie: Revelation Lugia (劇場版ポケットモンスター 幻のポケモン ルギア爆誕Gekijōban Poketto Monsutā Maboroshi no Pokemon Rugia Bakutan?, lit. "Mirage Pokémon: Lugia's Explosive Birth"), is a 1999 Japanese animescience fiction action film directed by Kunihiko Yuyama as the second Pokémon feature-length film, complementing the Orange Islands saga of the series and featuring several new Pokémon, including Lugia and Slowking. Brock, who temporarily left during the season on which the film is based, makes a cameo appearance trying to protect the Pokémon in Professor Ivy's lab. Pokémon: The Movie 2000 has two parts: the feature presentation and a 20-minute preceding short. The film is set during the Orange Islands saga, where Ash, Misty and Tracey enter Shamouti Island. While there, they discover the three legendary Pokémon, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno. Meanwhile, a collector named Lawrence III attempts to steal the three Pokémon to awaken Lugia, which proves dangerous for the legendary Pokémon, Lugia, and Ash himself. The film was released in Japanese theaters on July 17, 1999. The English version, produced by 4Kids Entertainment and distributed by Warner Bros. in association with Nintendo, was later released in the United States on July 21, 2000. Pokémon: The Movie 2000 earned less at the box office than its predecessor, Pokémon: The First Movie, despite increased promotion and slightly better critical reception. The 2nd Pokemon The Movie 2000:The Power of One was released on Japan on July 21,1999 and for U.S.A. was on July 21,2000!!This Second Pokemon 2000:The Power of One Movie is about Fantasy,Action and Adventure and It means the if you're the chosen one you can do it if you really try and meaning your can not give up!!
  • My favorite Pokémon movie if it's the Japanese version

It should notes that 4Kids plagued animes by the way dubbed them. In this version, they made the people in the movie come out idiots when they think Ash as the chosen one. But, really. In the Japanese version, Satoshi was accepted because he's the "great trainer" available at that point, not because of the word "ash" in the English legend. Fluera is more respectful to Kasumi than Melody to Misty. Kasumi really makes a great point when she tells Gelardin to use Monster Balls to catch Pokémon. Lugia's song in the Japanese version is as lovely as a Disney song than the English version. For all Pokémon movies, stick with the Japanese version.
