Description

In 1947, Dalton Trumbo (2015 Academy Award® nominee Bryan Cranston) was Hollywood’s top screenwriter until he and other artists were jailed and blacklisted for their political beliefs. TRUMBO (directed by Jay Roach) recounts how Dalton used words and wit to win two Academy Awards® and expose the absurdity and injustice of the blacklist, which entangled everyone from gossip columnist Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) to John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger. The film also stars Diane Lane, John Goodman, Louis C.K., Elle Fanning, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

This is such a bad film. Watched it and it has so many made up, fake, twisted, reality bent, narratives that I could not watch it the whole way through with out getting up. The communist party is hell bent on destroying America as we know it. Their members believed that our nation must end and that all our property belongs to the state. They believe that we are not a democratic republic, and we must become a communist state. They work daily towards that goal and twist all their lies to meet that end. They believe that the ends justified the means. They believe they are the victims and you are the criminal. They are the oppressed and you are the oppressor. If you don’t believe the same way they do, you are their enemy and must be destroyed by any means. This movie is just another example of how the Hollywood elite has made up facts to make their communist friends that now rule the film industry look better in the history books. I will not support this poor excuse for a film. I suggest you don’t buy it. Take a stand for America and it’s freedom. Bad communist films.

But story is another Hollywood Communists whitewash. These men knew even in 1947 the wholesale human right abuses in The USSR and the " people's democracies" in Eastern Europe. It was sheer hypocrisy for Trumbo and the unfriendly ten to whine about rights

Yes, Bryan Cranston is OUTSTANDING, but all the other actors do an amazing job as well! The writing is amazing, the cinematography is great, and the set pieces are lovely! I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants a good, well-written, yet funny drama.
  • The movie rocks and Cranston is just perfect!

What a great movie. Didn't know the historical details regarding the blacklist in Hollywood so from that perspective it was eye opening. Great casting/acting. Brian Cranston & Louis CK were brilliant. John Goodman didn't disappoint. Helen Mirren really nailed the vile reporter leading the witch hunt. I was cursing her the whole movie. I really enjoyed it - highly recommend.
